| Description | The Phytomyxea are a class of parasites of plants. They are divided into the orders Plasmodiophorida (ICZN, or Plasmodiophoromycota, ICBN) and Phagomyxida. A more common name for them is the plasmodiophorids, but this does not always include Phagomyxa (see taxobox).
