Named for Wilhelm Ramsay (January 20, 1865 Dalsbruk, Dragsfjärd, Egentliga, Finland- January 6, 1928 Helsingfors, Finland). Finnish mineralogist and geologist who specialized in studying nepheline syenites and alkalic rocks, particularly of the Lovozero and Khibiny area, Russia.
