A former Zn occurrence/mine. Active during WWI.
Commodity: ANALYSIS OF "COTTON" ROCK, LIGHT GRAY SILICEOUS DOLOMITE: M60 18. & 18.10, CO2 41.67 & 41.60
Deposit: Vertical shaft's bottom is about level with bottom of adjacent gu lch, in horizontal bedded dolomite. No faults or cavities were mentioned As possible channels of deposition.
Development: O.e. Hines said in 1892 that he had shipped 2 wagon loads from there down the white river, to batesville and from there by rail to st. Louis, mo.
Geology: Saccharoidal sandstone, 30' above shaft top, 15 5' thick, and is 2-3' beneath the st. Joe marble, with the chert overlying that, the latter two forming a layer about 25 feet thick.
