A Mn occurrence/claim located in the NW¼ sec. 29, T1N, R8E, HM, 3.9 km (2.4 miles) NE of Copper Hill, in the headwaters area of North Rattlesnake Creek and North Post Creek (on the E side of a road leading S from the forest road to Limedyke), on National Forest land (located claim). Owned by R Sihlis, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in chert. A mass of low grade manganiferous chert not over 4 feet in diameter, in chert associated with greenstone. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains).
