A Cr occurrence/mine located in sec. 24, T28N, R11W, MDM (assumed spot at center of SW¼, sec. 24), 0.5 km (1,500 feet) NW of Pony Buck Peak, in the headwaters area of Dark Canyon Creek (3 miles SW of Round Mountain, on the SE slope of Dark Canyon Creek), near the Tehama County line. Discovered in 1939 by Floyd Sublett, Redding, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
The ore body is podiform. The deposit occurs in one of several dike-like peridotite bodies that are NW-trending across central to SW Trinity County. ocal rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains).
Only discovery work has been done.
