A Cu-Zn occurrence located in sec. 34, T34N, R3W, MDM, 3.5 km (2.2 miles) WSW of Green Mountain (coordinates of record), W of Brushy Canyon, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a replacement deposit hosted in rhyolite. The ore body is lenticular in form, strikes NW and dips NE, at 3.05 meters thick. The deposit contains Cu & Zn in limonite, but no Pb. Pyrite was found on the dump of the northern-most adit in sec. 4. It is the only sulphide mineral seen in the area.
The area is underlain by shale and mudstone interbedded with quartz keratophye flows and tuff of the Bully Hill Rhyolite. These rocks are strongly silicified and contain lenses of red and brown limonite. Local rocks include Triassic marine rocks, unit 2 (Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings. This area embraces a group of adits and pits. It probably includes 2 prospects formerly known as the De Dallis and Brushy Canyon prospects.
Analytical data results: 4 samples of limonite showed 50 - 130 ppm Cu, 90 - 270 ppm Zn and no Pb.
