A former Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in the SW¼SE¼ sec. 10 & in sec. 11, T6N, R2E, SBM, 2.7 km (1.7 miles) SSE of East Ord Mountain (coordinates of record), on the SE slope of the mountain, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. The property is comprised of 4 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in andesite. The ore body strikes N30E and dips 65W at a thickness of 4.57 meters and a length of 914.4 meters. High-grade ore occurs above the 40 foot level; below this level values decrease. Some intrusive dikes occur both N and S of the Grandview shaft. E of the shaft, there is also an intrusive diabase dike that probably faults the vein N of the shaft. Parallel veins are 8 to 15 feet thick. The Grandview vein is exposed on surface for 3,000 feet along its outcrop. The footwall of the vein is granitic porphyry and the hanging wall is andesite. The vein is brecciated rhyolite porphyry that is highly silicified, iron stained, hematite (sic). Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of pits and a 150 foot incline with 75 feet of drifts on the 100 foot level.

A small amount of ore was produced in 1934 and had a value of $8.90 (period values) per ton when milled.

Analytical data results: 3000-5000 tons of ore with tenor of 0.44 ounce Au/ton was reported.
