A former Au-Cu-Pb occurrence/prospect/mine located in sec. 18, T12N, R15E, SBM, 3.3 km (2.1 miles) WNW of Table Top (coordinates of record), along Black Canyon, on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). The property is comprised of 10 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. The ore body is lenticular, strikes N and dips 70E at a thickness of 0.91 meter. The vein occurs along a fissure at 14 to inches (35 cm to 0.91 meter) thick. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 97.54 meters and comprised of two 100 foot shafts and a 320 foot shaft with numerous drifts.
It was reported that 35,000 tons of ore were developed above the 300 foot level. No production record was found.
Analytical data results: Vein was said to carry $6-$25 (period values) Au/ton.
