A former gypsum-anhydrite deposit/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 15, T4S, R7W, SBM, about 6.8 km SSW of Corona (center), along the E canyon wall of Hagador Canyon, on apparent National Forest land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a sedimentary gypsum deposit hosted in Late Jurassic metavolcanic rock. The ore body strikes E-W and dips 70N at a width of 91.44 meters and a length of 228.6 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 4 (Peninsular Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of open cuts.
Analytical data results: CaO-8.8%, MgO-0.62%, Fe2O3-4.19%, Al2O3-3.66%, Na2O3-2.89%, K2O-0.30%, SO3-12.06%, CuSO4.2H2O-23.05%, loss in ignition 13.05%. Product utilized for soil conditioning.
