A former Pb-Sb-Zn-Ag occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 14, T4S, R7E, SBM, about 6.2 km (4.5 miles) S of Corona (center), at the mouth of Main Street Canyon, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in metasedimentary rock. The ore body strikes NE and dips 45NW at a width of 1.83 meters. Host rock is marine metasediments. The wall rocks also show mineralization. The vein varies in width from 2 to 6 feet but the mineralization extends over 15 feet. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 4 (Peninsular Ranges) and/or Paleocene marine rocks, unit 1 (Central and Southern California).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an open cut 360 feet long. Below the cut is a crosscut tunnel driven N15W for 92 feet. 300 feet W of the tunnel is another open cut and 2 short tunnels.
Production was not determined.
Analytical data results: Ore from the open cut and tunnel was antimonial lead ore assaying at 10% Pb, 14% Sb & 40 ounces Ag/ton.
