A former Cr occurrence/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 25, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 2.8 km ENE of Grass Valley proper, E of Hills Flat, ESE of the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, on the N side of Wolf Creek. Operated by C. W. and W. J. Jenkins (lessees). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 20 foot deep shaft with a short drift and underhand stope at the bottom.
About 40 long tons had been mined when the property was examined in 1918. Lessees reported that they mined and shipped 43 long tons of ore containing 34.27% Cr2O3 in 1918. Most of this ore probably came from this deposit, though some may have come from the Davey property in this same section, which was also leased by the Jenkins.
