Mineralization is hosted in rhyolite. The bedrock consists of rhyolite and rhyolitic tuff. Radiation intensities as high as 0.11 mr/hour were observed by the USGS. Source of radioactivity apparently is finely divided radioactive material that is uniformly disseminated throughout the rhyolitic rock. Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 17 (Cascade Range).
