A former lode Au mine located in secs. 34 & 35, T4S, R16E, MDM, 1.9 km (6,100 feet) ENE of Quartzburg. Discovered in 1875. Property consisted of 1 unpatented claim. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein averaging 3 feet wide, hosted in slate, diabase and porphyry. The ore body strikes NW and dips 43SW at a thickness of 0.91 meter. The footwall is slate and the hanging wall is porphyry. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 475.49 meters and an overall depth of 109.73 meters, and comprised of a shaft, 1,200 feet of drifts and stopes.
