A former talc/steatite mine located in T13S, R37E, MDM, 3.6 km (2.3 miles) WNW of Willow Creek Camp, along Willow Creek Canyon on the E flank of the Inyo Mountains, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Inyo Mountains Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10110697 presents a T&R value of sec. 14, T13S, R37E, MDM. That value places the locality a considerable distance from Willow Creek to the NE, in the Saline Valley. The T&R value of sec. 32, T13S, R377E, MDM, presented in MRDS file #10163939, places it on Willow Creek and agrees with the geographic coordinates provided. The T&R value form this latter file is apparently correct and reflected in this Mindat file.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 1 (Mojave Desert and Death Valley area).
