A former zeolite mine located in sec. 9, T25N, R6E, SBM, 6.9 km (4.3 miles) ENE of Death Valley Junction (on the Ash Meadows Road, then 1.5 miles S of Ash Meadows Road, and 5 miles long.), near the Nevada state line. Operated by the Rook and Messer Excavating Co., California (1980). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
NOTE: This locality should not be confused with a similar locality with the same name across the state line in Nevada.
Mineralization is hosted in tuff. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include unspecified surface openings/operations.
Miller (1985) reported resources 10's of millions of tons and reserves of less than 10 million tons for the combined properties of this and Ash Meadows (Nevada).
