A former Au occurrence/drift mine located in sec. 16, T13N, R11E, MDM, about 3.35 km ENE of Volcanoville, on the S ridge of the Middle Fork American River (8 miles NE of Georgetown), on National Forest land. Operated around 1894. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (sic).
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada) and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 700 foot adit.
