A Cu-Ni-Mn occurrence/prospect located in the NW¼ sec. 7, T16S, R10E, SBM, 4.4 km (2.7 miles) SE of Carrizo Mountain (coordinates of record) and 6.8 km (4.2 miles) NNW of Coyote Wells, 4.4 miles N11E of Ocotillo, along the SE slope of the range, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in gneiss. The ore body is podiform, strikes E and dips steeply at a width of 3.05 meters. Minor Ni occurs in unidentified black Cu-Mn-bearing material occurring in the pod. Weakly mineralized, copper stained breccia. Controls for ore emplacement included a fault. Local rocks include Pliocene marine rocks.
Local geologic structures include a fault 40 feet wide that strikes due E and dips steeply N.
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
