Mineralization is hosted in sandstone. The ore body is irregular in form, strikes NE and dips SE (steeply tabular and pipe-like bodies). Cinnabar is intimately associated with red Fe oxides. Possibilities exist for lateral or downward extension of the ore bodies. Local alteration is silicification and argillic. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Local structures include a NW-trending fault.
Workings include unspecified underground openings with a length of 573.02 meters, a depth of 42.67 meters, an overall length of 60.96 meters and an overall width of 15.24 meters. Caved and no equipment (April, 1951).
Production data are found in: USBM files data.
Produced at least 10 flasks in 1970, 100 flasks in 1962, 1967, less than 100 flasks in 1959.
Production statistics: Year: 1960 (period to 1960): ^5-10 pounds Hg/ton (3,388 grams/ metric ton).
