A Au occurrence located in the S½NW¼ sec. 23, T20N, R5E, MDM, 1.4 km (4,500 feet) NW of Crystal Hill, now inundated under the Middle Fork Feather River arm of Lake Oroville. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineraliztion is a 4 to 8 inch quartz vein in a 2 foot wide shear zone that strikes E-W for about 125 feet and dips 70N in granodiorite.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an adit and several pits.
Assay analyses results: Selected sample from the dump assayed 0.38 ounce of Au/ton. Shows limited promise.
