A former Cr mine located in sec. 32, T22N, R5E, MDM, 6.2 km (3.9 miles) SSW of Big Bar Mountain, along the North Fork Feather River (N side), and E of China Gulch, on National Forest land. Owned and operated by J. C. Akin (1943). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a Cr deposit hosted in serpentinized ultramafic rocks. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Production data are found in: Rynearson, Garn Arthur (1953): 264.
Ore was mined from surface workings and none was left in the deposit when the claim was abandoned.
