A former Fe mine located in sec. 30, T25N, R5E, MDM, 3.3 km (2.0 miles) NW of Table Mountain (coordinates of record), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters.
Mineralization is a contact metamorphic type Fe deposit hosted in marble. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 6 (Northwestern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface openings/operations comprised of a 20 foot deep pit.
Production information: Over 750 tons of 63-67% Fe were mined in the late 1950's; 10,000 tons in 1960, which was exported.
