An abanondoned uranium mining site. The Commisariat à l 'Energie Atomique (CEA) exploited this deposit for uranium between 1946 and 1952. It is situated close to the Anjanamanjaka village oabout 10 km south of the city Antsirabe in the central highland of Madagascar. Uranocircite & autunite has been found in sandy argiles of plio-pleistocene origin. An extensive large plain of plio-pleistocene origin starts at the border of the Ankaratra mountain range further in the North and ends in the south at Vinankarena.
