Barranco del Salobral (Barranco Salobre, Barranco del Toconar), Teruel, Teruel, Aragón, España
The Nabo Ravine (Barranco del Nabo) or Fuente del Nabo Ravine (Barranco de la Fuente del Nabo) corresponds to the Salobral Ravine (Barranco del Salobral), as described in the old literature for the "type locality" of the teruelite variety of dolomite. It is where the first specimens were described and where you can find the best quality in the locality. There is a Salobre Ravine (Barranco Salobre) about eight kilometers north of Teruel, but it is sterile and does not provide specimens of teruelite. The two locations should not be confused. The own touristic guides of the Teruel City Council cite the Barranco del Nabo as a place of geological interest and is named as Barranco del Salobral, but it does not appear as such in the maps, being an old denomination.
Geologically, the outcrops correspond to Triassic age levels, corresponding to the Keuper facies.
