A former pumice occurrence/mine located in the N½S½ sec. 19, T23N, R8E, G&SRM, 2.8 km (1.8 miles) E of Sugarloaf Peak and about 4.5 miles W of Sunset Crater, on National Forest land. There are 3 pumice pits in sec. 19. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a pumice deposit hosted in Pliocene rhyolite. The ore body is 60.96 meters thick. The pumice fragments are coarse to fine, angular to rounded, bedded or unsorted, and loosely consolidated. The deposits are up to 200 feet thick. Local rocks include Holocene to middle Pliocene volcanic rocks.
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
