A bentonite deposit/mine located in sec. 16, T21N, R29E, G&SRM, 7.8 km (4.9 miles) ESE of Sanders. The Engelhard Corporation held the Arizona state mineral lease on this section. Part of the same deposit as the Cheto No. 1 and No. 2 mines.
Mineralization is hosted in Pliocene silt and lake sediments of the Padre Miguel group.
Regional geologic features include the Defiance Uplift.
