A former U-V occurrence/mine located in approximate secs. 1 & 2, T40N, R28E, G&SRM, 3.1 miles NW of Black Rock Point. T&R values are not presented for this locality.
Mineralization is tyuyamunite in irregular tabular layers hosted in Late Jurassic claystone, siltstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash member of the Morrison formation on the NE limb of the Toh Atin anticline. Ore is found in clusters, usually associated with carbonaceous detritus. Scattered, small, low-grade pockets of tyuyamunite ore 5 feet above base of the Salt Wash member on the North flank of Rattlesnake anticline. Local rocks include rocks of the Morrison Formation.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a drift and an adit.
Production was 504 tons of ore @ 0.18% U3O8; 1.64% V2O5 (1955-1956).
