A former U-V occurrence/mine located in approximate sec. 28, T38N, R28E, G&SRM, 3.0 km (1.9 miles) W of Kinusta Mesa (coordinates of record) and 2.0 miles SW of Alcove Canyon. T&R values are not presented for this location.
Mineralization is carnotite in irregular tabular layers hosted in Late Jurassic claystone, siltstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation. The ore is usually found in clusters, usually associated with carbonaceous detritus. Local rocks include rocks of the San Rafael Group.
Workings include surface openings comprised of a rim cut.
Production was 47 tons of ore @ 0.08% U3O8; 0.72% V2O5 (1953).
