The Sint-Jansbosch Quarry IV is a marl quarry in the Dutch municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul in South Limburg. The underground quarry is located southwest of Oud-Valkenburg in the northwest of the Sint-Jansbosch on the northeastern edge of the Margraten Plateau in the transition to the Geuldal. At the site, the plateau plunges steeply for several meters. Of the five Sint-Jansbosch quarries, this quarry is the second lowest located quarry.
To the northwest, approximately 30 meters, 40 meters and 50 meters respectively, are the Sint-Jansbosch Quarry III, Sint-Jansbosch Quarry II and Sint-Jansbosch Quarry I, while approximately 30 meters to the northeast is the Sint-Jansbosch Quarry V.
About 135 meters to the northwest is the Groeve Pruus Karel I, about 275 meters to the south is the Groeve Essenbosch IV and about 270 meters to the southeast is the Groeve van de Scheve Spar II.
From the 17th to the 19th century, the quarries were mined by block crushers for the extraction of limestone.
The quarry has an area of approximately 39 square meters and a corridor length of approximately nine meters.
The quarry is carved under the Horizont of Romontbos in the Schiepersberg Limestone from the Maastricht Formation.
