Isabel Nickel Project
A nickel laterite deposit. Considered to be one of the largest in the Pacific Rim.
A proposed strip mine to be operated by Axiom Mining Ltd. However, the company's mining licence was revoked by the Solomons Government and all expatriate employees ordered to leave the country in 2019.
It appears that there has been no further development of the deposit to 2022. Although one of Axiom's mining tenements has been transferred to a Chinese corporation Bintan.
UPDATE 2024
The satellite image at Google Maps clearly shows that an extensive drilling program has taken place at this location.
