The locality has been described by Myrland (1972) as Storhaugen and was in 1982 prospected by BP Norge A/S Minerals.
The mineralisations occur along the western margin of a calcite marble unit, embedded centrally in the Andalshatten pluton. Along the western border of the marble, a 10-30 cm wide zone a coarse-grained granite occurs. This granite and included marble xenolites contain a 0,6 m wide mineralized quartz vein. The vein is exposed over a length of 15 m.
The arsenopyrite and subordinate galena mineralisations occur in the quartz vein and in irregular networks of veins (2-30 cm wide and 1-7 m long) extending into the henging contact with the marble and granite dykes.
The main vein is locally brecciated and cemented by arsenopyrite.
