Copper
Structure: Granodiorite Stock With Assoc. Faults, Fractures
Alteration: Oxidation
Deposit: 4 parallel veins, apparently replacements of dikes which are completely altered and mineralized. The toano group is also called the o'connell mine. The deposits are on the sedimentary side of the contact and occur chiefly in a parallel E- W ridge of the limestone. They are contained in 4 veins or lodes, which strike NW, are approximately parallel, and dip steeply to NE and into the mountain. These veins seem to represent replacements of porphyry dikes which are more or less complete altered, replaced, and mineralized in the vicinity of the workings. Their true porphyry-dike character is shown in the limestone on the NW, and the granodiorite to the se. Claim no.2 is a lode 75 feet wide, composed principally of 40% siliceous iron ore, and containing at the middle a 20-inch vein consisting principally of copper oxide and carbonates averaging about 7% copper. (schrader, 1912, p150). Location estimated based on schraders' description. ; info.src : 1 pub lit
