A basalt quarry. Some very large crystals of heulandite and chabazite, as well as large sprays of thomsonite, were recovered. Stilbite and heulandite are the most common species.
The chabazite is interesting, as it is not found along the shore, from Ross Creek all the way west down to nearly Digby, but this part of the mountain represents a different lava flow than is available along the shore.
