This locality contains several fossil bearing rock units including from top to bottom: Pennsylvanian/Permian Supai Fm.; Pennsylvanian Naco Fm.; Mississippian Redwall Limestone and Devonian Martin Fm.
This locality is bounded by the Mogollon Rim on the north, Tonto Creek in the east, Forest Road 64 (Control Road)on the south and Bonita Creek in the west. It is also bound on the south by SR 160 excluding the road cuts a few yards to the northwest along the highway that belong to the Kohl’s Ranch fossil locality.
