Structure: Beds Almost Flat, Along Randlett Syncline That Strikes Wnw
Tectonics: Interior Basin; Deltaic Red Bed Margin
Deposit: Marcy (1854, p. 9-10), shepard (1854, p. 147), and hitchcock (p.162) first mentioned the copper in this area. Wegemann (p. 66, 102) located copper minerals in the ne-ne-8-5s-10w, which would have been marcy's camp site or warren's trading post. The copper was in fossil wood, in a conglomerate, about 10 ft above cache creek, on the e. Side of the creek, in the oscar formation.
Development: Marcy (1854, p. 9), shepard (1854, p. 147), and hitchcock (1854, p. 162) mention this occurrence. Hitchcock paraphrased from shumard's notes.
