Coal.

This former mine was located near Abbotsford.

Mindat co-ordinates are approximate.

James Walker died in 1911 from a fall of coal. This resulted in mine manager Alexander Sinclair Gillanders being fined £2 plus court costs, for not having workers under proper supervision. He had been fined £5 plus court costs in 1909 for not keeping the mine properly ventilated.

In 1906 the mine produced 21,285 tonnes of coal for the year. Robert Hill is noted as mine manager in 1902, before later leaving to manage the Saddle Hill (Christies) No. 2 Mine. He was replaced by Richard Green.
