A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 3, T14N, R11E, MDM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) SW of Sunny South, at then head of an unnamed tributary of the West Branch El Dorado Canyon (on the divide between the West Branch and Volcano Canyon), on private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
