Former cobalt prospect. According to the 1910 report ( ref. below) the Gifford mine is in the "N half of the NE quarter of the N half of Lot I, Conc III". It had a 200 deep shaft sunk with 150 feet of lateral development( up to 1910) by Gifford Cobalt Mines. In this same report is mention the Gifford-Extension which is reported to be "in the SW quarter of the S half of Lot I, Conc.III". For some unknown reason in subsequent reports (examples OGS 1961, PR 1961-7, P11-12 and Sergiades 1968) the location of the Gifford mine was attributed to the Gifford-Extension, and there is no mention of the Gifford mine? Gifford Cobalt Mines was incorporated Oct 23, 1908.
