Stone. Ordinary chondrite (H5, S1), 436 g.
A single stone was found during plowing. Olivine and Pyroxene compositions (Fa18.5, Fs16.6, respectively) indicate membership in the Ordinary Chondrite with a high total iron group. Albitic plagioclase (An11.8. Or6.0) is also reported.
Gilzem is one of the 14 German H chondrites (11 witnessed falls and 3 finds). H chondrites represent approximately 30% of all witnessed and classified meteorites.
