The chromite mineralisation was discovered in 1907 by W. Koert.
Between 1954 and 1957 the French company Péchiney produced some 2,500t of chromite concentrate.
Total resources are estimated to be in the range of 10,000t.
The chromite lenses reach thicknesses of up to 1m.
The average Cr2O3 content is 35.4%, the Cr/Fe ratio is 2.46.
