Fields Find is 12 kilometres north of the Warriedar homestead, and 50 kilometres north-west of Paynes Find. Near here is a specimen mine, the material jasper/hematite marketed as 'desert sunset'. Like much of this stone in Western Australia, it is sold widely internationally.
The deposit is hosted by Archean mafic, felsic, and metasedimentary rocks, containing steeply dipping banded iron formations. These outcrop for 2 kilometres, and are a few metres to tens of metres thick. The banded iron formations contain rich zones of jasper with relatively minor amounts of iron. They are composed of banded limonite-hematite-quartz jasper in broad attractive red and yellow bands.
