The May Day mine is a precious opal deposit and claim group to the west of the Rainbow Ridge Mine in the center of Section 22, T45N R26E MDM, Virgin Valley Mining District.
Originally located as a placer deposit in 1949 and held by Charles Eddy for many years. Incorrectly stated to be in Sections 5 & 8 in several printed references. Relocated in 2003 by Alvin Jamison Trust as a lode mining claim and subsequently acquired by Shirley Waggoner.
