A PGE (Pt-Ir-Pd-Rh) placer deposit/occurrence/mine located in the "area below Middle Fork junction with North Fork American River." This description places the locality in sec. 11, and perhaps sec. 12, T12N, R8E, MDM, about 3.4 km (2.1 miles) WNW of Cool, along the North Fork American River, E of the city of Auburn (Placer County), WNW of Pointed Rocks.
NOTE: The coordinates provided are approximate to the area of dredge tailings along the E side of the river (El Dorado County side), just S of the confluence of the North Fork and Middle Fork of the river.
