Geology: The rocks in the vicinity of this occurrence are black carbonaceous Nasina Series schist and quartzite (McConnell, 1905), which has Mississippian protolith ages (Mortensen, 1999). A quartz vein in carbonaceous schist assayed 30 ppb Au (Crock and others, 2000).
Workings: A quartz vein in carbonaceous schist assayed 30 ppb Au (Crock and others, 2000).
Age: Mississippian or younger.
