Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of about 6,000 feet, about 0.7 miles southeast of Keevy Peak. The map site is in the SE1/4 of sec. 31, T. 11 S., R. 2 W., of the Fairbanks Meridian. The location is accurate to within 1 mile.
Geology: The general area of the Peaches prospect is underlain by Lower Paleozoic or possibly Upper Precambrian schists cut by Late Cretaceous stocks and Tertiary sills and dikes. The deposit is in schist, and consists of stratiform layers of massive sulfides, chiefly galena and sphalerite, accompanied by quartz and sericite (Inmet Mining, oral communication, 1999).
Workings: There has only been surface exploration to date.
Age: Mineralization probably is syngenetic with the Lower Paleozoic or Upper Precambrian host rocks.
Commodities (Major) - Pb, Zn; (Minor) - Ag
Development Status: None
Deposit Model: Kuroko massive sulfide (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 28a)
