This property is in Township 10 S., Range 7 E., Section 21, near the town of Rudement and close to the Pope County border.
The King and Fergusen (Ferguson) Mine is a group of prospect trenches and pits that contained small fluorite veins, along with minor baryte, galena, pyrite that were found in a quartzite matrix. Bain (1905) reported that the outcropping here dipped at high angles, and Weller et al. (1952) measured a strike of approximately N 10° E. The rock was mainly weathered “gravel spar”.
Weller et al. (1952) reported that the last property owners at the time of their publication was the A.B.C Mining Company.
