Bauxite deposit, hosted in basal clay rocks of the Middle Carboniferous Benxi formation occurring on the erosion surface of Ordovician limestones. The ores are densely massive, white pisolitic-oolitic, or black pisolitic-oolitic. The ore bed, which is controlled by the erosion surface, is generally horizontal, with a dip angle less than 15°. Its thickness varies from 0.45 m to 8.5 m.
