Mount Sinai, known also as Mount Horeb or Mount Moses, Gebel Musa in Arabic language, is a granite peak in the South Sinai. The mountain is 2,285 m above sea level.
The summit can be reached by walking from the Saint Catherine Monastery.
It takes about 2½ hours walking and is a popular excursion done at night in order to admire the sun rise from the top.
