Queensberry Smelter
2.5 km northwest of Wanlockhead village.
The Meadowfoot Smelter was constructed in 1843 and worked until the 1930s, when the depression forced the closure of the surrounding mines. Dates as early as 1928 have been cited for the smelter closure.
Note on the mineral list: Rust (2022) also lists "Zn-Copper", "Zn-Covelline", and a number of unnamed species (e.g. an unnamed Cu,Sb alloy) and/or unidentified species (e.g. an iron-rich mineral gel).
