A former Cu-Pb-U-V-Zn occurrence/mine located in the SE¼SE¼SW¼ sec. 11, T30S, R24E, SLM, 5.0 km (3.1 miles) ENE of Casa Colorado Rock, on Bureau of Land Management administered land (located claim). Discovered in 1954 by the Standard Uranium Corporation. First production was 1955. Owned by the Atlas Minerals Corporation, Utah (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is a replacement deposit hosted in Late Permian Cutler Formation sandstone. The ore body is tabular, lenticular, podiform and irregular. It strikes N30W and dips 12W at a thickness of 3.1 meters and a depth-to-top of 90 meters, a width of 60 meters, and a length of 264 meters. It is lenticular. The primary ore control was bedding. Local rocks include Triassic and Jurassic sedimentary rocks in southeastern Utah. Discovered by drilling.
Regional geologic structures include a stable platform. Local features involve thicker portions of sandstone with enrichment along fractures.
Workings include underground openings with a length of 1,500 meters and an overall depth of 114.3 meters. The mining method was room and pillar.
Production data are found in: Utah Geological and Mining Survey (1973).
Reserve-Resource data are found in: Jones, H (1978).
