Serra das Éguas is a set of mountains located in the municipality of Brumado, southwest of the Brazilian state of Bahia, in the geological site Cráton do São Francisco.

The mountains have a mineral composition of magnesium carbonate, therefore rich in magnesite and iron, and currently houses the third-largest open pit ore mine in the world.
Production corresponded to 3% of the world volume in 2001, according to Magnesita S.A., a company that has held mining rights since 1940.
There are other companies that also explore talc, the phyllosilicate mineral, found in the mountains.

Emerald occurs as well (Just, 1926).
